Country-specific fields

The shared endpoint schemas describe a submission's common fields. The business, business.owners, and business.legal_representatives objects also contain fields specific to the submission's country_code. This page shows those objects for each market.
Use tax_id_number and tax_id_label when both a generic tax ID and a local identifier are present. Identifiers found in extracted document data can use local field names; see Supported document types.

Tax identifiers by market#

Brazil (br): businesses use CNPJ (Cadastro Nacional da Pessoa Jurídica); people use CPF (Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas). The corresponding labels are cnpj and cpf. New Brazilian submissions require a CNPJ.
Chile (cl): businesses and people use RUT (Rol Único Tributario), labeled rut.
Colombia (co): businesses use NIT (Número de Identificación Tributaria), labeled nit. A person's identifier depends on id_type, such as a cédula (identity card) or passport.
Mexico (mx): businesses and people use RFC (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes), labeled rfc. CURP (Clave Única de Registro de Población) is a separate personal identity key, not a tax ID.

Submission#

business_type: sole_proprietor or legal_entity. Mexican submissions return persona_fisica or persona_moral. New Brazilian submissions use legal_entity, including individual businesses registered with a CNPJ. Chile currently supports legal entities only.
inputs.entity_type: Brazil's registration category, returned by Receita Federal (the federal tax authority). For example, mei is Microempreendedor Individual, ei is Empresário Individual, ltda is Sociedade Limitada, and sa is Sociedade Anônima. This is separate from business_type. Read Update submission before updating inputs: updates clear this field.
inputs.nationality: the business's declared nationality as a three-letter ISO country code. It can differ from the submission's market.

Business profile#

The business object returned by Get submission, per market. Keys fill in as Niva builds the company profile, so expect null and empty arrays before processing completes. tax_status is the business's standing with the market's tax authority; owners[] and legal_representatives[] are detailed in the next two sections.
